TITLE:          Digital Media Specialist

GRADE:        9 Non-Exempt

Summary of Position:

The Digital Media Specialist manages and executes Pathlight's communications efforts using new media and digital tools.

 The Digital Media specialist leads planning for using and implementing all digital communications, including webpages, social media platforms, and other digital platforms that evolve. The Digital Media specialist works with teams across Pathlight to coordinate our communications, fundraising and promotional activities.

 Manages all digital media accounts and works to maintain organization and program voice, message, and public image.

  Essential Job Functions:

  1. Write and manage promotional website content for Pathlight and programs.
  2. For promotional purposes, conceive, film, and edit videos to support Pathlight and its programs.
  3. Post regular updates for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter (and other platforms that may develop), blogs, and other content as needed.
  4. Organize and maintain all video content.
  5. Manage consultants for outside projects
  6. Attend organization events and activities to document with photos and/or video.
  7. Create and monitor regular social promotions and campaigns, report their success and suggest applicable changes (Twitter chats, LinkedIn discussions, etc.).
  8. Maintain and build upon the established brands
  9. Increase public engagement across all social media outlets, using appropriate metrics to gauge success.
  10. Assist in the management of day-to-day content strategy activities including editorial calendar planning, and market research.
  11. Explore new ways to engage our families and potential families and identify new social networks to reach them.
  12. Performs other similar duties required by responsibility or necessity or as requested by the Director.
  13. Supervise interns

 POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  1. BA or BS in Marketing/English/PR/Journalism/Communications or other related field
  2. At least one year direct experience executing day-to-day digital media programs with demonstrated ability to work independently.
  3. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle.

 Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), WordPress, and film editing software
  2. Knowledge of social media and online reputation best practices
  3. Familiarity with web design and content management systems
  4. Excellent analytical and project management skills
  5. Excellent writing and editing skills with a proven ability to create compelling copy
  6. Able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, bringing all in on deadline.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
  8. Additional qualification in web design or animation is a plus
  9. Stay abreast of current technology and social media platforms.
  10. Must be able to maintain regular attendance.
  11. Outside and/or inside contacts involving carrying out organization policy or programs and influencing others where improper handling will have a marked effect on results. Considerable tact required.
  12. Wide variety of duties requiring a general knowledge of related organizational policies and procedures and their application to cases not previously covered. Duties require considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, to devise new or modify existing methods, techniques or procedures to meet requirements and to make related decisions controlled by precedent and within limits of established policy.
